We went today, and despite it being a Monday, it IS July on the OBX, so not surprisingly it was VERY busy with lots of singles, couples and family groups having a great time! We lucked out finding two seats at the rail, looking southward down the beach. Fish Heads Bar & Grill at the Outer Banks Fishing Pier in South Nags Head is one of our favorite 'Must Go To" spots. The pier not only offers beach access, but a restaurant, gift shop, snacks, and fishing.
